Varieties: 98% Mencía, 2% Alicante Bouchet.
Appearance: Clear, deep ruby.
Nose: Clean. Pronounced. Aromatic, a bouquet of violet & mocha with white flowers and citrus notes.
Palate: Dry. Medium-bodied. The palate reveals flavors of ripe red cherries with hints of fennel.
Vinification: The Palacios are committed to bio-dynamic farming, hand harvesting & tilling, & small-scale production. This Mencia is a beautiful & truly artisanal wine. From 60-100-year-old vines spread out over 7 vineyards in the Bierzo. There were 2,500 bottles produced.
Recommended Food Pairing: Smoked Seitan, wild game, roast pork.
