Variety: 100% Garnacha.
Appearance: Clear, bright ruby.
Nose: Clean, refined notes of red berries, fall-spice, vanilla and some earth.
Palate: Dry, Medium(+) bodied. Full of cherries, strawberries and red currants. The palate is refined, elegant and sinewy, silky, transparent and focused. It is a delicious, explosion of pure red berries. There is an extra degree of elegance and finesse on the finish.
Vinification: From Rioja Baja farmed organically by Alvaro Palacios matured in French oak barrels for 14 months before release. He is striving to make a less modern and more finessed style of Rioja. Everything is sustainable here, right down to the biodegradable ink used to print the labels (if they streak, that is why).
Recommended Food Pairing: Hen, game, duck, or a Christmas ham.
