Nose: Clean. Pronounced red fruit aromas & complex toasted, earthy notes from oak aging.
Palate: Dry. Full & fresh for a Ribera with cherry, bitter chocolate & spice notes on a subtly sweet finishing body that has slowly evolving tannins.
Vinification: From the estates younger vines. Fermented in large oak vats & aged in both French & American oak as well as used, large oak vats. Packaged in a limited edition box with the latest vintages of Valbuena 5th (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011). Only 1,500 available.
Recommended Food Pairing: Roast leg of lamb with anchovy, garlic & rosemary.
