Nose: Clean. A pronounced earthy bouquet of licorella & pipe tobacco with spicy clove notes.
Palate: Dry. Medium (+) bodied. Elegant on the palate, with a silky texture & fruity notes that lead to a mineral laden finish.
Vinification: From low producing vines planted in 1902 in “licorella” slate soil, fermented for 5 weeks under temperature control then aged for 16 months in new French oak.
Recommended Food Pairing: Roast duck or turkey.
