Viña Callejuela "La Casilla Amontillado" (500ml)Regular price $65.00
Variety: Palomino Fino. Appearance: Bright deepish amber with a hint of mahogany and copper tints, legs. Nose: Forthcoming fresh and fragrant with notes of hazelnuts, toasted bread, wax and oak with slightly bitter marine notes from its Manzanilla past. It is quite complex and beautifully integrated without losing its wild Sanlúcar streak and is very attractive now. Palate: Tangy dry and fresh, saline, hazelnut, walnut and a lean earthy very slightly rancio savory note balanced by an attractive touch of glycerin leaving a racy Sanlúcar style wine with a long clean finish with the lightest hint of caramel rounding it off at the end. Vinification: Made by the Blanco brothers from vines they grow around their bodega just outside Sanlúcar, this wine, which is around 20 years old, has considerable charm. It has not been on the market long and is already hard to obtain but it shows how good the Callejuela wines are going to be as their soleras age. Recommended Food Pairing: Hard aged cheeses like Zamorano, or semi-firm cheeses like Montcabrer.
