Bodegas Poniente

Bodegas Poniente was born out of a collaboration between Patrick Mata and Alberto Orte, already partners in Olé & Obrigado imports.

After sourcing the base wines from centuries-old botas from bodegas and almacenistas, the wines are then refreshed in the traditional method each year from the fruit of 16 hectares of organically farmed estate vineyards (San Cristóbal, San José y El Aljibe) in the Pago Añina, a Jerez Superior Pago site.

Vineyards are farmed organically and trained in the traditional vara y pulgar pruning method.   All wines are assembled in a house among the vines in El Aljilbe, named after a well that served the town.
