Do Ferreiro

Working from small plots in the sub-zone of Meaño in Val do Salnés, the heart of Rías Baixas, Gerardo Méndez has been dedicated to the cultivation of the albariño varietal as one of the world’s finest. Gerardo made his first wine without a label in 1973.  In 1986, the DO Ferreiro label was born, and today, Gerardo, together with his son Manuel and daughter Encarna, craft age-worthy albariños through organic viticulture.
