Palacios Remondo Finca La Montesa 2020, Rioja

A winery taken over by Álvaro Palacios from his father in 2000, Remondo is meant to highlight Garnacha as a response to the overproduction of Tempranillo in the 1990s. The fruit for Remondo comes from three villages (Valtomelloso, Valfrío & Valviejo) with vine average age around 35 years. Grapes are hand-harvested, 20% whole cluster, fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts, aged for one year in French oak barrels. Wild berries, flinty, juicy, salty, spicy, mineral - velvet crush.
