Atlantic Single Parcel Albariño

Albariño has been riding a wave of popularity since the D.O. Rías Baixas formed in 1986.  With the innovation of stainless steel technology, producers have been able to produce larger quantities of wine at an affordable price without sacrificing quality.  Wines are designed to be consumed within the first three years.

In Val do Salnés, the heart of albariño country, a select few winemakers have taken on the challenge of crafting high quality, age-worthy wines, often single parcel, by treating the pre-phylloxera, ungrafted old vines with reverence, meticulous viticulture, and vision.

Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and aging in large, used wooden vessels (foudres) without controlling temperature are just some of the practices that harken back to traditional methods.  The use of foudres to stimulate oxygen during élevage is a medium that’s been applied for generations.  Much like structured red wines, these limited editions benefit from extended cellaring, rewarding patience with unforeseen pleasure.

What do the wines taste like?

Bright mineral, white flowers, orange and meyer lemon zesty, orchard fruits, lush, saline, honey and spice – like a shining diamond – clarity, length and complexity.
