Mallorca
Mallorca, the largest of the four Balearic Islands, benefits from a Mediterranean climate, mountainous terrain, and proximity to the sea, ideal for island viticulture. Binissalem obtained DO status in 1990, followed by Plà i Llevant in 1999. All other regional wines fall under the Vi de la Terra umbrella. Look for native grapes like Prensal, Callet, Fogoneu, Manto Negro, Malvasia, and Moscatel.
