Manzanilla

Manzanilla is a dry, pale, straw hued fino wine produced within the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry (Avg. ABV 15%- 18%), but exclusively made in D.O. Sanlúcar de Barremeda.  Situated at the mouth of the river Guadalquivar, emptying out to the Atlantic Ocean, manzanillas age under a unique flor.  Delicate, fresh and floral, with hints of chamomile, almonds and dough.  Manzanillas that age for longer than two years in barrel become more oxidized due to a weakening of the flor.  These wines are known as Manzanilla Pasada.
