Oloroso

Oloroso is made from palomino grapes within the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry (Avg. ABV 20%-22%).  Oloroso is aged oxidatively in oak barrels in the absence of flor.  The selection of grape musts is heavier than that of a fino-styled sherry.  Olorosos that age for longer periods (20-30 years +) can be designated VOS or VORS.   Amber in color with nutty flavors, fragrant, rich, spicy, with notes of dried fruits, leather and oak.
