Pago de Carraovejas

Pago de Carraovejas is a family-owned winery located on the southern slopes of the Carraovejas ridge in Peñafiel, within the heart of Spain's Ribera del Duero wine region, renowned for its high-quality red wines. Founded in 1987 by José María Ruiz, the first vintage was released in 1991 and quickly became a benchmark. Since 2007, his son Pedro has been in charge of running the winery.
The estate spans approximately 180 hectares, with a focus on cultivating Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), with a smaller amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The winery is celebrated for blending winemaking tradition with innovation and sustainability such as hand-harvestings and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Wines are aged in French and American oak barrels and clarified with natural egg whites.
The present and future philosophy of Pago de Carraovejas involves creating unforgettable experiences around wine, committed to projects in pursuit of a higher purpose, with a commitment to building a distinct legacy.
