Rubén Díaz Alonso

Rubén Díaz Alonso hails from generations of winegrowers in Sierra de Gredos. After seeking out the wisdom of his father and Cebreros elders, he began his journey of heroic viticulture in 1999 in an effort to preserve the viticultural history of his home village. Rubén rolled out his first vintage in 2004, and has been crafting terruño-driven wines of Cebreros ever since. Rubén has also taken on the role of historian and advisor, passing on acquired knowledge down to the current crop of Garnachistas.

Rubén is a minimal-interventionist in the vineyard and in the cellar. Rubén’s main focus is Garnacha, and also makes small quantities of white wines from native Albillo and Chasselas Dore old vines.
