Alfredo Arribas
In 2001, Alfredo Arribas, a Barcelona native and multidisciplinary architect, decided to take his talents to the rugged mountain ranges of Montsant and Priorat, building a world of wines that reflect the origins and terruños of a very special wine landscape.
In a return to an ancestral past, Alfredo seeks freshness and sensibility, exploring the spectrum of wines that high altitudes can provide. To this end, Alfredo practices biodynamic agriculture allowing the vines to thrive in a diverse environment. Alfredo farms roughly eleven hectares up to 700m in elevation.
In the cellar, Alfredo believes in wines with more absences than additions – no added sulphites, minimum to no oak, less alcohol, lighter color, spontaneous fermentations, whole cluster macerations, and aging in diverse formats such as amphora, stainless steel, and mature foudres.
Looking back, walking forward.
