Alberto Orte Atlántida Tinto 2019, Andalucía
Precio habitual $60.00Jerez past · Pago de Balbaina · albariza
While Jerez proper is now known for the palomino fino varietal (sherry), historically, the region was home to over 80 different grape varieties (red and white) before phylloxera devastated the area. Leading the way to resuscitating these forgotten original varieties is Alberto Orte, historian and winemaker extraordinaire. from Jerez proper. Tintilla stands out as an ideal grape that captures the mineral, salty, and chalky characteristics of the albariza soil in Jerez's coastal terrain. Organically grown vines planted in 1992. Hand-harvested, whole cluster fermentation in oak vats, aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Herbal, wild dark fruits, licorice, cherry, violet, mineral grip with a saline touch.
