Bodegas Osborne

Bodegas Osborne

As one of the historic names in the world of sherry, Osborne stands tall among the most iconic brands in Spain.  While the origin of the bodega dates back to 1772 (Duff Gordon & Co.), it wasn’t until 1831 when the English entrepreneur Thomas Osborne Mann partnered up with Duff Gordon & Co., successfully shipping his own sherries until full acquisition by the Osborne family in 1857.

Osborne produces a wide range of sherries, including very rare wines from La Honda bodega in El Puerto de Santa María and soleras acquired from Domecq. These sherries are part of the personal historical archive of the Osborne family meant for private consumption, and were not available commercially until recently.  These centenary soleras epitomize the heritage of a bodega that is over 250 years old.

You may recognize their iconic logo of the Toro Negro scattered about the highways throughout Spain.  Designed by Manolo Prieto in 1956, the black bull was used for advertisement of a popular brandy of Jerez, Veterano, and has since become a symbol for Osborne.

Today, Osborne remains family-owned and is well-established as a premier leader for Spanish gastronomy and excellence worldwide.
