“This is only the wine of the history of humanity.”
“The wine wants to come out and meet everybody.”
Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa are architects by trade, agriculturists at heart. Looking for a change of pace, the couple settled in Bonastre in the Baix Penedés from Piedmont, Italy circa 2000.
Necessity is the mother of all invention. As Massimo and Antonella began farming for sustenance, they looked for wines to compliment the food. They noticed many abandoned vineyards and decided to recuperate old vines in need of resuscitation, bringing indigenous varietals back to life without conforming to D.O. rules.
The low yielding, nearly extinct grapes serve as the inspiration for their vision of natural viticulture.
Now they make wines they like to drink, and as it turns out, wines we like to drink too.
Partida Creus is a reference to the crosses used to separate land holdings.
The wine labels sport an alphabet system imprinted from wax.
