Viñedos del Jorco was born in 2009 out of a desire to make beautiful Garnacha from Gredos, by winemaker Raúl Pérez and partners César Ruiz, Flequi Berruti, and Nacho Jiménez. Their most prized parcel consists of high alt. (up to 830m) old vines (40 to 60 yrs.) growing in poor, sandy, granite soils. Organically and biodynamically farmed, grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts in concrete vats, followed by aging in a large neutral wooden vat for six months. Crunchy red berries, granite mineral tension, savory with pleasant acidity - Gredos groove.
